On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and information retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most covered investigations and continues to be unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another voicemail, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "Imagine there is a small chance that I'm her? What then? Isn't that important for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a life here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.

The tribunal was advised that by means of emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a effort to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with the police force who gathered the evidence, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On that date, Mr McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my position."

The court learned the co-defendant struck up a connection through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a visit to the McCanns' property in the county in that winter.

Communication data demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated using messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she ought to be treated respectfully in the months leading up to the visit to that location, Leicestershire, in that winter.

The court heard message exchanges between the two defendants, in last November, considering attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her bins or from silverware at a restaurant.

"We have to take action," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the trip to their home, the defendant transmitted a communication which stated: "We are positioned near the McCanns' home with our headlights off similar to private investigators. I wanted to do this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial ongoing.
