Barça to Host Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
