The former president's Granddaughter Receives Professional Advice from Tiger Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has impressive online following
Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile backers when she begins her LPGA debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, received a tournament invitation to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns numerous courses worldwide and frequently matches against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply stay calm."
"My grandpa practically advised me to go out there and relax," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has competed in only three events in 2024 and holds the 461st position in AJGA standings.
But she can seek guidance from golf legend, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He stands as the best player in the world," the young golfer said.
"And he's a superior human being. He told me to play, have fun, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge some of most prominent players in the sport at the Annika, such as world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA stated that her participation helps introduce golf to new audiences, specifically reaching younger fans.
Kai maintains substantial online presence and just introduced a personal clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
